Trail running is pure freedom, and once you’re hooked, there will be no stopping you. That’s why you should carry a trail running backpack for any tour longer than an hour. Water, a small snack and your mobile phone should always be carried and so should a water-repellent running jacket, as the weather can change quickly in the mountains. In case of an emergency, it is worth taking a rescue blanket (foil) so you can help others if necessary. Trail shoes with good grip, a profiled outer sole and a robust upper complete the essential equipment. If you like running long distances and/or taking the strain off your legs during ascents and descents, trail running sticks are also worthwhile.
